Angry "Not an Award Bios !" error message - 4PCA3+ - PLEASE HELP ME :(

Hi,

Can Epox Tech or someone help me please??????

Maybe foolishly, not sure, seemed to workout flawlessly until now.

I modded the 4PCA3+ 9 February 2004 bios to include the Highpoint 3.0.3 bios. It flashed fine and PC is working without a problem.

I've noticed the CPU temperature is alittle more than I like, 49-52c idle, upto 67c when encoding, then doing a DVD copy. (it's the Australian summer, with day temps between 36c to 43c)

Just to see if the modded bios was causing any heat problems, I decioded to flash using the original 9 Feb 04 bios.

Rebooted to A:\, start the flash process but keep getting this Error Message whether I use Update.bat or Restore.bat.

It is not Award Bios !
Why can't I flash over the previously modded bios?

Is there a command-line parameter that I can use to, heavens forbid, FORCE it to update the Bios file?

Cheerz

Hi,

Thankz for replying.

The /F option gave me An Out of Memory error message, so no go.

What did work though, was using ALT-F2 at StartUp, it must use a force option.
