Unhappy 4PCA3+ poor DDR500 preformance?

Hi folks

Recently I was running with this setup:
4PCA3+ with Samsung 2x512mb ddr400 (in dual ddr setup)
CPU P4 2,4C @ 3,0 memory 5:4

So i thought, better buy faster DDR modules..

I choosed 2x256 A-data Vitesta DDR500 and are runnig now 1:1 on ram

But the expected memory performance didnt come.

Sisisoft Sandra 2004 (memory banthwith test) claims ~5500mb/s
The 3Dmark2001se didnt score higher either...

Should the system performance raise when runnig at 1:1 ram setup ?

My bios is from 05.02.2004. Btw. the ddr is detected as pc3200 @500mhz by bios at post screen

regards

Proxie / Denmark

What was your previous RAM timings? What are they now? At 250 5:4 with my Kingston HyperX @200 2-5-2-2 I get slightly better 3DMark performance than with 250 1:1 with my Geil pc4000 @250 2.5-7-4-4. Car Chase and Lobby tests are bandwidth hungry and although the RAM is running at lower MHz, it has tighter timings and will improve 3DMark scores a bit.

on any i865/875 motherboard...
5:4 2-2-2 is faster in all games and apps than the same CPU speed at 1:1 2.5-4-4

PC4000/DDR500 is a waste of cash.

Well..so i found out.

But A-data timing are 2,5-4-4-8. . I cant remember timings for my 2x512megs Samsung..only that they also are 2,5CL

I maybe just over-expected DDR500 (and 1:1 setting )

I know... Alot of people did that same thing... In fact I would have too, if I had the cash to buy some PC4000 at the time.
