VCore problem on 8KDA3J after flashing to kda34630

Perhaps somthing for the tech support of epox,

after an undeclared shutdown of my pc i've decided to flash from kda34526 to the new bios.
Flashing this with a dos bootdisk was'nt the problem.

But after flashing and load the optimized defaults after the reboot i saw in the health section of bios that vcore idles around 1,36 V. Same i could see by the usdm monitor in win xp. Reflashing to older or other bios gives me even no chance to get vcore around 1,5 V for my newcastle 3200+ DH7-CG stepping how it was before.

With bios kda343526 i could underclock my pc through cpumsr or clockgen to 1000 MHz and 1,1V Vcore (because no function of cool n quiet with two sticks of ram). After flashing i could underclock but was not able to get 1,1 VCore. USDM and CPU-Z shows both the same 1,34 - 1,36V Vcore as the health section of BIOS.

What have i to do to get the wright VCore, perhaps a newer BIOS???

With best regards

Gerald

When I flashed with the 6/30 my vcore dropped to 1.36v idle and 1.4v load when set to 1.55v in the bios.

this seems to be a issues of the board/bios. i flashed to 6/30, too. on the next boot 1,35v was shown in bios. still 1,35v after some reboots.
but after a cold boot (starting next day), i got 1,55v as suspected. so a cold boot might be required after biosflashing and resetting the settings to default?!? can epox tech confirm this? strange thing, never seen something like this on other boards

i have never done it. sure epox-site says this, but i never needed this after biosflashing since i use pc´s in 1996 . maybe that it is really necessary with this board. havent tried with cmos reset.

@ Psycho and epox tech

Hi,

even kda34514 gives you no chance to get 1,5 V Vcore with the default Parameter of 1,55 V VCore in bios. These are my experience, no other bios gives me again the idle Vcore of around 1,5V and the VCore control in cpumsr or clockgen.

In my opinion we need a new bios with the old VCore handling.

With best regards

*ROTFL* this is really the most weird thing, i have ever seen. yes, it seems to work. when you switch off, disconnect, press the power button and switch on, vcore is normal again. funny mainboard

Can someone check the voltages on the board. Maybe the bug is just in the bios displaying voltages.

Cold boot after flashing BIOS

Hi,

thank you very much community. Problem was even solved by flashing the BIOS (i went back to kda34514 eg. CPU fan control go by underclocking the cpu to 1,1 V and Multiplyer of 5 to 0 RPM) and after that switching of the psu, wait 2 minutes and switching it on.

After that VCore is around 1,5V in health section of bios and usdm in windows shows the same, softwarecontrol of vcore and multiplyer by cpumsr or clockgen is fully functional.

Have a nice sunday

Gerald Paul

Don't you love it when I have my Vcore set at v1.65, but it actually only stays above v1.520 and "NEVER" goes beyond v1.600...

Oops, sorry, I missed your suggestion earlier, I will try that when I'm done massive downloading, hope this funky solution will solve this undervolting problem.

Worked for me. Actually now I am getting overvolting...which is pretty cool. When set to 1.55v in bios I get a steady 1.6v.

Guys dont use the 06/30 or the 06/24 bios they all seem to lower the vcore for me ansd others.

When u flash back to the 05/05 or 05/14 or whatever to fix the vcore problem cuss it never went away from me. Just unplugg the ower cord in the back of the psu unplugg the ATX and 12v connections on the board and wait a few minutes, plug them all back in and it should be back @ the right voltage
