| BSOD problems Recently I've had a lot of BSOD with this error message: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0000000A. The error occurs as far as I can remember only during 3D games, but I'm not 100% sure. The last 2 times the error parameters have been: (0x9D7C2240, 0X00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80847C1C) My vital specifications: (no overclocking) 520W ASPIRE PSU (+3.3V:28A, +5V:30A, +12V:34A, -5V:0.3A, -12V:0.8A, +5VSB: 2.0A) Athlon64 (NewCastle DH7-CG) 3000+ 2.0GHz (200MHz*10) 512KB 4*200HTT Thermalright SLK-948U Heatsink, Papst 3412NG 84m3/h 32dB Fan & Artic Silver 5 Thermal Paste EPoX 8KDA3J 512MB PC3200 DDR SDRAM TwinMos (Winbond CH-5) Tcl2.5, Tras 8, Trcp 3, Trp 3 Western Digital Raptor 36.7GB 10000RPM S-ATA Hitachi Deskstar 7K250 160GB 7200RPM S-ATA NEC 2510A 32XCD-R 16XCD-RW 40XCD 8XDVD-R 4XDVD-RW 8XDVD+R 4XDVD+R 2,4XR9 ATA/33 nVidia GeForce 6800 128MB GDDR AGP 8X (MSI) Creative Audigy 2 Software: Windows XP Pro Eng SP2 DirectX 9.0c ForceWare 66.81 nForce Unified Drivers 5.10 Audigy 2 Driver version 5.12.1.444 Temps: CPU: 30c IDLE & 45c LOAD GPU: 50c IDLE & 55c LOAD IRQs: 0 : System timer 3 : COM2 3 : Communications Port (COM2) 4 : COM1 4 : Communications Port (COM1) 8 : System CMOS/real time clock 9 : Microsoft ACPI-Compliant System 11 : NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management 13 : Numeric data processor 14 : NVIDIA CK8S Parallel ATA Controller (v2.5) 16 : NVIDIA GeForce 6800 17 : Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM) 18 : OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller 20 : Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller 21 : Standard OpenHCD USB Host Controller 22 : Standard Enhanced PCI to USB Host Controller 23 : NVIDIA CK8S Serial ATA Controller (v2.5) 23 : NVIDIA Network Bus Enumerator Memory resources: 00000000 - Thanks in advance for any help!!! (PS! sorry for the long post, hope it's ok)

| Have you tried just the built in drivers for the IDE? I had serious issues with the Nvidia IDE drivers when using a DVD burner, and would get similar BSOD's. I use W2K/SP4, so it may not help, but it may not hurt to try. The uninstall will let you remove just the IDE drivers.

| I uninstalled NVIDIA's IDE driver and I didn't have a BSOD for a couple of days, but it didn't last long. I got a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error with reference to a file called PCIIDEX.SYS. In the properties of this file I find this info: "PCI IDE Bus Driver Extension". I also got a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error with reference to a file called ATAPI.SYS. I've had these errors 9 or 10 times this week. I can reproduce these errors when streaming video from Gamespot.com, it may crash after 1min or it may take more than 10mins.

| You are definitely having problems with your IDE bus drivers, however it MIGHT be something with your optical drive wigging the drivers out. Can you unplug the drive (CD or DVD) and see if it makes the system any more stable?

| I'll try that later. I've set the HTT to 1X just for fun, and the machine has been stable the last 24h. Will lower HTT put less stress on the chipset or the cpu? I suspect that the chipset may get to hot with the small heatsink (and no fan).
