BSOD problems

Recently I've had a lot of BSOD with this error message: IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL 0x0000000A. The error occurs as far as I can remember only during 3D games, but I'm not 100% sure. The last 2 times the error parameters have been: (0x9D7C2240, 0X00000002, 0x00000000, 0x80847C1C)

What I've done so far:
-Tried different driver versions
-I've run Prime95 24h: No errors & memtest86+ 1.20 24h: No errors
-Disabled DEP
-Defraged, scanned disks, used spybot, ad-aware & driver cleaner

Does anybody know what could be the source of my problems? Thanks in advance for any help!!!

(PS! sorry for the long post, hope it's ok)

Have you tried just the built in drivers for the IDE? I had serious issues with the Nvidia IDE drivers when using a DVD burner, and would get similar BSOD's.

I use W2K/SP4, so it may not help, but it may not hurt to try. The uninstall will let you remove just the IDE drivers.

I uninstalled NVIDIA's IDE driver and I didn't have a BSOD for a couple of days, but it didn't last long. I got a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error with reference to a file called PCIIDEX.SYS. In the properties of this file I find this info: "PCI IDE Bus Driver Extension". I also got a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error with reference to a file called ATAPI.SYS. I've had these errors 9 or 10 times this week. I can reproduce these errors when streaming video from Gamespot.com, it may crash after 1min or it may take more than 10mins.

The only other time I get this is when I am using ATI's Multimedia Center video application, and I close it out. I don't get it everytime, but I got it enough to pinpoint it was during video playback. I would say again, we must have similar systems. I have not fixed it, but haven't had it for about a week.

You are definitely having problems with your IDE bus drivers, however it MIGHT be something with your optical drive wigging the drivers out. Can you unplug the drive (CD or DVD) and see if it makes the system any more stable?

I'll try that later. I've set the HTT to 1X just for fun, and the machine has been stable the last 24h. Will lower HTT put less stress on the chipset or the cpu? I suspect that the chipset may get to hot with the small heatsink (and no fan).
