NVIDIA nTune 2.00.17.05 Performance Optimization and Monitoring for nForce mainboards

NVIDIA nTune Performance Application

Previously known as the NVIDIA System Utility

The NVIDIA® nTune™ (version 2.0 of the NVIDIA System Utility) is the easiest, fastest, and safest performance optimization and monitoring application available for your PC. Incorporating more features than any other system tuning or monitoring product, NVIDIA nTune is the only performance tuning application designed exclusively for your NVIDIA nForce-based PC. With NVIDIA nTune your system can automatically adjust to maximum performance settings for intense gaming or will detect that you’ve inserted a DVD and will set the system to quiet operation. This intelligent application offers the safest way to change bus speeds, memory timings, and even tweak voltages. Changes are made easily within a simple-to-use Windows interface—so you no longer need to make changes to the BIOS or reboot your system.

KEY FEATURES and BENEFITS:

* The best PC performance: Choose between a silent running mode or the best graphics performance settings and the wizard automatically adjusts all performance metrics (clocks, voltages, fan speeds, bus speeds, etc.) to get the best options for the hardware in the system.

* Improved dynamic overclocking: Provides on-the-fly overclocking and BIOS configuration within an easy-to-use Windows interface that is streamlined and simplified for better user understanding.

* Benchmarking wizard: See how your PC configuration stacks up against synthetic benchmarks before and after adjusting system parameters.

* Saved system profiles: Save, import, and export custom overclocking or BIOS profiles. Assign profiles to favorite programs for automatic application. A safety "watchdog" checks temperature and steps system down if failure could occur.

* GPU overclocking: Overclocking of GeForce FX and GeForce 6 Series GPUs is supported in concert with system overclocking, temperature monitoring, and system profiles.

* System troubleshooting: An automated reporting tool captures all needed information to help you determine when problems may be happening to the system, and helps you troubleshoot.

* Improved system monitoring: Temperatures, voltages, and bus speeds are now available as an “always-on-top” window with a transparency option so that it is visible at all times.

* Voltage and bus speed monitoring: Track actual motherboard voltages, GPU clocks, bus speeds, and CPU core speed to ensure safe and correct settings.

* Temperature and fan speed monitoring: Real-time monitoring of CPU, GPU and system temperatures helps prevent hardware damage. nTune supports dual-CPU and SLI multi-GPU systems.

* Dynamically adjustable voltages and fan speeds: Adjust motherboard voltage levels without a reboot, as well as dynamically control fan speeds.
* Dynamically adjustable memory timings: Change critical memory timings without rebooting and without entering the BIOS.

I get a network error while installing this...
"A network error occured while attempting to read from the file "c:\docum...."

I have nvidia system utility installed, september 19th release and the nvidia firewall. I did try to install it with it disabled but it didn't help

I got it to work, but needless to say not impressed with it. Again epox mb is not supported in the monitoring area (is usdm the only software available???), and the agp settings and whatnot I find that clockgen is a much better utility.

just my opinion.

This Utility use ISScript9.Msi for install

First uninstall NVSU 'NVIDIA System Utility' with the old ISScript8.Msi.

BTW, if you like to keep the old 'NVSU':
First copy C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA System Utility\ to a temporary directory, now uninstall this 'NVSU' with 'Ad or Remove Programs', after that install the new 'NVIDIA nTune', when done move the saved 'NVSU' back to its original place and you can use it as well.

The full support for this NVIDIA nTune utility is depend by the motherboard manufacturer, but it is not hard to modify the xxxx.ini file(s) by yourself or wait a while for a ready modified one.

The versions we will ship on CD's will be optimized for our mainboards in respect of the .ini's as with other vendors. The NVidia pure versions will need those ini's altering.

I tried it...installed fine
and tried out the auto tuning, best performance...and crash.
So it sure needs to be tuned in for epox.
I use 8RDA6+Pro by the way.

I find it difficult to believe that a piece of software could have killed your controller, although I believe your observations.

I don't like coincidences, but I'd have to suspect one here.

the best i can figure, as it set the timings for my mem in bios, causing the crash(changed CAS to 2.5!!!), it may have changed another setting in bios that i cannot now re-enable.

I dunno...i mean..what else would do it? the drive works fine in other machines....

Does nTUNE really do bios optimizing? Or do I have a bigger issue here?

Memory also now squeals unless i give it 2.7 instead of 2.6

I can't raelly say it was ntune that did it...but i'm thinking something is screwed on the mobo now...

My Mobo is on the NVIDIA nTUNE Support list and still crash also, but thats what nTUNE communicate before you start the optimalization, a crash can happen with this kind of utilities and is not to worry about, also its say that it continue after crashing (or you can cancel than, is up to you), when canceled al setting go back to the point before the optimalization and nothing is change.

Maybe the diskcontroller software 'fdc.sys' driver or the driver Recources 'I/O Addressses, DMA or IRQ' be damaged by the crash.

Have you try to replace the floppy driver, or a bios flash from bootable CD?
