epox 9nda3j prob

hello. i got epox 9nda3j last rev motherboard, FSB 275 with HT 4 feels OK but cant get over 280 even with HT 2 and more chipset voltage. with CBBHD and LBBLE(somekind like that) winni. someone got idea whats wrong? even 8x280 memory 100 cant get up 2 win. also with singel and dual channel.

3000+ winni, atm 7x280 HT3 working. memory 100

edit: 7x300 atm. with clockgen.

Hmm...280 MHz FSB is actually very good and near the limit of what most board can do.

Why are you using a 7 multi instead of the 9 for your 3000+ winnie?

An increase in FSB frequency will not give munch of an increase in performance as compared to higher CPU clock speed. If you want best performance I would suggest maybe a 9 * 267 = 2.4 Ghz. Most winnies will do around 2.4 Ghz.

If you still want to run a faster FSB try setting you AGP clock from AUTO to 67 MHz to make sure your AGP frequency is locked. It should be already locked but some users are reporting that that is not always the case.

Good luck.

I've run 9 x 300 with my 9NDA3J and 3000+ winnie, Super Pi and 3DMark2001 stable. I haven't primed it sine the temps got warmer than I liked (50+) fairly quickly even with an XP-90 as I had to up the core voltage .2 or .225V in the BIOS (can't remember which).

Board is rock stable (Prime95 and all apps) at 290 x 9 (+.1V core in BIOS) and 286 x 9 (+.075 core in BIOS) and max CPU temp is more to my liking.

I tried raising the chipset voltage a couple of times but it never seemed to be a factor in stability. Actual core voltages measured by USDM are below what the BIOS settings would indicate and increase slightly going from idle to full load. Fox example, the +.075V core in BIOS yields an idle USDM core of ~1.42 and ~1.45 load. Clockgen core voltages and USDM agree more closely leading me to believe there is a bit of a BIOS error in the base core voltage which always reads low.

My 3000+ Winnie is a CBBHD wk 44. I've een posts of folks getting the CBBID(?) purchased at the same time from the same vendor (Newegg) who can't get over 2.4G even with more voltage than I'm using.

What core voltage are you using? All of the above is with HTT x 3.

Mike

Any BIOS should work but it is the April 1 BIOS that officially supports the Venice.

A few users are hitting around ~330 MHz FSB. However, that would be more the exception than the rule. Since you already hitting around ~300 Mhz than I would say you are doing good. Many factors can influence you FSB limit so it is not set in stone. From what I have seen posted around many forum it looks like 275 is a more common limit.

Did you already order the Venice? Even if you order a 3000+ Venice you should get around 2.5 to 2.7 GHz overclock with your FSB limit. Order a 3200+ Venice if you want to go higher and need the 10 multiplier.
