| Heya,.. Just a quick question, does this motherboard actually support the RAID feature ?? I noticed in a review that the board "had a RAID chipset, but the board doesn't support this function" ..??? http://www.komplett.co.uk/k/ki.asp?sku=306807 A RAID board is a necessity here, so any input would be most appreciated My trusty 8K3A+ just blew 2 caps, no post, no LED Debug - mobo heaven , so am looking to get a similarly tough RAID enabled AGP mobo, as I can't really afford to go down the PCI-E route atm. I was considering a cheap AGP board to tide me over for the next 6months or so before moving on to PCI-E, I'd go for the next board up 9NDA3+ but really don't need firewire, so i was thinking of keeping my costs down by getting this model.So,..is it RAID or not RAID capable, that's my question , and has anyone here got same mobo with a San Diego 3700+ and ATI 9800Pro>>XT or similar - how does it perform ???Thanks for any helpful insights/info/advice in advance guys ... GG p.s. What happened to EpoX.org (Actron Electronics) ?? I was thinking of sending the 8K3a+ back for refurbishing, but the url just redirects to the european site which aint as helpful or as informative as the UK site used to be, and after a week on a laptop, i can't wait to get my rig up and running anymore !!

| Heya,.. Thanks Apap, that's exactly the answer i was looking for Might get myself one then as the + board is a bit more expensive and has firewire which i dont really need,..pity it doesn't have the 4 S-ATA connectors, but i can live with that for the moment. Cheers again, GG

| You are welcome. I think the person who wrote that review didnt load the raid drivers when installing windows. The utilities cd has the drivers and ,if you boot from that cd, it asks if you want to make a raid floppy. Cant be any simpler.

I'm waiting for Komplett to get the + board in stock, .. it's not that much more expensive but may have to buy the J model due to ££$$££ restraints. I don't know much about the board, i just wanted to know if the performance was as good as it's bigger brother and if it's worth forking out the extra just for the x2S-ATA extra and Firewire ports, seeing as it's an AGP board and a stop-gap solution before i go PCI-E. Trust my luck that this 8K3A+ had to die 6 months before i was thinking about moving up to the PCI-E level.. .GG

| As to the question of the thread. Yes this board does support raid. Raid 0,1,1+0, which ever you wish. I am running a pair of WD SATA 120gb drives setup on Raid 0. This was the quickest and easiest raid array I have ever setup. Super quick and works great. Never been a problem since setup.

| The + version has a lot more features than the J model. Not just the firewire feature. I know the bios is the same so the board will perform about the same. The + model has more SATA connectors than the J model. I use the connectors next to the AGP slot, but i am using the stock cooling on the Radeon card, therefore there is no problem. There are SATA cables with a 90* plug on one end. These would probably be the ones you need since you are using a much larger cooler etc. The bios on these boards do not support interleaving in the memory settings, therefore the memory performance of these boards are not up to the DFI, MSI, etc boards. That is the main gripe I have with these boards, everything else is good. There may be a bios upgrade later that will enable this feature.
