![]() Hi all. just regd, my first post on AOA, seems like the best forum for epox around. Can somone verify this(below) my rig: MB:ep-8kda3+ CPU: 3000+/754 (Newcastle DH-CG) RAM: Ballistix 512mb PC4000 (2,5-2-2-5 1T) OC: 233*9 Im really happy with this system, and wanted to get some extra Ballistix RAM so I ordered one more 512mb memory module (same as above) getting it tomorrow. But as i looked through the users manual for the epox board, on section 3-7 it says it cant run two DS (doublesided) ram modules in 200mhz, only 1 DS and 1 SS (single sided)??? whats the deal?? Can this be fixed with a BIOS update??? Someone have the same setup as me that have tried? Hope someone can help, i dont want plug them in if they dont work, cause then i cant return them if ive opened up the package. To add to the confusion ive looked around at some other forums and seen many peoples have a matched pair 512mb modules on this motherboard running it at quite high speeds?

Due to the low quality of some generic memory, we can only guarantee all memory working in a particular way - and hence have to drop max mem clock to 166 by default when occupying multiple ranking. What I can say is that back in the UK I have this board running 2 x 512MB of some branded PC3200 (Micron) at 240MHz - thats 4 rank (bank) at 2.8v - perfectly good for STR and anything you throw at it.

If I dont try I will never know if it works, thats just to tempting for me.. After smooth talking the internetshop i ordered it from, they gave me a chance to test them, I also spoke to crucial support, they are really top, and give excellent service. Anyway, im not giving these babies back... Currently smooth runnings at 9x240=2160 @ 2,5-2-2-5 1T Havnt pushed them further, but so far nothing indicates instability issues. I can really recommend these Ballistix PC4000. I think thats alright considering the low timings and that im just on an air cooled system with just one additional fan except the case fan. Thx for all the encouragement ![]()

See my sig. - no problems normally run at 230 x 10 at 2.5-2-2-8 1T but have run upto 255 x 9
