Chipset monitoring on 9NPA+ Ultra

Bought this board recently, and replaced the chipset fan. I now want to check the temps, but none of the programs detect it. I can get the cpu, mb temp, etc, but nothing about the chipset. I've tried MBM, Speedfan, USDM (didnt even detect my board), everest, etc...Can anyone walk me through this. I think my best bet is with MBM, but i have no idea how to do it.

There may not be a sensor for monitoring the chipset - usually there isn't.

That's some board the 9NPA3+ Ultra considering we haven't released it. There is no chipset temperature monitoring by hardware unless you have an EPoX mainboard with thermo stick. USDM will work with your mainboard provided that you use the correct version.

But you always need more beta testers, right?

I have never seen anything which is thin enough to fit in-between the sink and chip where there is no gap. You may need to cut a small channel into the heat sink, perhaps with a small angle-grinder or whatever tool you can lay your hands on.

ok, what are some symptoms of an overheating chipset (nf4), so i can keep my eye out for it.

as for the thermometer, i think i found one, from pics ive seen of it in use, you stick it to the side of the chipset, just so its touching.

Ben

Instability proportional to FSB? Or in this case, LDT?
