9NPAJ SLi not seeing 4 gigs of ram

Hi all,

I just baught the Epox 9NPAJ + SLi motherboard, together with 4 (1 GB PC3200) Samsung memory modules.
The board reads the 4 dimms as 2883584Kb and not the 4 GB as it is supposed to. I flashed the bios to see if that would correct the error but it did not help.

Do you guys have any idea how to get this m/board to see all the memory.

thanks
Werner

I should have stated that my pc is running Win 2K Pro and after doing allot of reading up, I found that this is normal in 32bit OS. 64bit OS will fix this.

thanks anyway.

The final GB is swapped from logical to physical addressing array by a 32bit operating system. 4GB is the maximum usuable, but 3GB is the maximum usable without this large page switching array.

What CPU are you using? If you have a Newcastle or Winchester, the onboard memory controller is going to give you problems.
