SP DIF OPTICAL help

Hey there!

I have an Epox 8rda+ with the optical daughter card running through the SP DIF.

I have it connected and all. and have enabled digital output on the nforce panel. but i cant get sound. my xbox was working on the same input earlier so the amp is ready for action.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks!

Joel

How have you set up the digital connection? First step is to try to make it work without any surround sound encoding.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply.

I have it set up with no digital encoding and a two speaker setup in the nforce control panel.

I am not sure what else i would need to set up?

thanks

Joel

I don't have my 8RDA+ board any longer I'm afraid, so I'm having to try to remember what the control panel looks like! IF you have it set for digital output and a two speaker setup, that's as basic as you can get.

Stupid question here - does the far end of the fibre glow red when the computer is powered up?
