9npa+ ultra problem with Antec case

Anyone resolved whom to blame, Epox or Antec?

Both components OK, Antec works with another mobo, epox works with some cheap 15$ psu, but together ... no go. I have Antec Overture 2 case with 450W psu inside

No one to blame rally, some PSUs just dont work with some mainboards. I think Andy_C (when he was ET) mentioned something along those lines a while back.
Maybe try another named brand PSU (Tagan, CWT...)with the board?

Board works atm flawlessly with some cheap PSU, but I'm kind of angry that I spent 200$ on a case that doesnt work. I bought Samsung 930BF LCD and this desktop case seemed like perfect match to go under it...and here in Croatia sellers are not quite friendly...case works with other motherboards they tested it with, so they wont replace it

I believe Antec is the one not meeting ATX spec here, not sure.

This has been a problem, many PSUs fail in their power ratings and do not meet ATX specification.

I don't work for EPoX any longer but will state that Antec are at fault and it dis-suades me from ever using anything of theirs again. They are cutting a huge corner and when I looked into it realised that there PSU's are very very poor quality all around; particularly when you look at it from a financial perspective.

Thats what angers me most...15$ el cheapo PSU works, and supposedly "high quality", "brand name" expensive one does not.

enermax 400watt liberty highly recomended. not to expensive but still 30 amps through both +12v rails
http://www.enermax.com/english/Produ...ay1.asp?PrID=7
never had any troubles with enermax and you can get one of their cheaper ones and still have it outperform an expensive antec/thermaltake/etc.

Position of mounting screws in Antec Overture case is a problem...that Enermax PSU should have mounting holes where fan is, not where there are now...on the back where grill is
(hope explanation doesnt sound too fussy, english is not my primary language )

oh I know what you mean, the psu mounting screws are upsidown so that the fan would be at the top of the case. lol that's not good, gotta power drill?
easy mod to allow the psu to sit correctly (mod the case not the psu lol)

I've had exactly the same problem, with Epox 9npa+ ultra and an Antec Sonata II.

My retailer offered to replace the PSU, so i paid to upgrade to a Tagan 580w - i'm much happier now!

I think there are three options:

Option 1: Sell your Antec 450w psu and buy another make.

Option 2: Email Antec Europe support, who told me they would replace the PSU for a compatible model for free. You may have a long wait.

Option 3: Explain there is a known fault with this model to the retailer, and ask if they will replace the PSU with another model. Tell them that either they replace the PSU or you will be sending the whole case back for a refund! Replacing just the PSU should be a cheaper option. Point them to the many examples on this forum, or ask them to contact EpoX support if they don't believe you!

I just had this exact problem. Anyone want to trade for a 450 watt PSU?
