EP-8RDA6+ Pro Opinions Ok guys well I rodered an 8rgm3i from censuspc and appaerntly they are out of stock and arent sure when they are getting more, not surprising since i thought they were discontinued, but anyways.... I have the option to choose another board to use and It looks like the 8rda6+ pro is my best option.... I have an amd Athlon MP 1600+ that will be used in this, and i had already bought water cooling blocks for my 8rgm3i so i would also like to use those.... My questions were... Are there options in the biod for FSB, muli, and vcore adjustment.. I'm not going to be doing any extreme clocks just small overclocks seeing as this is going to be my carpc board My other question is, can anyone tell me if the chipset heatsink mounts in the same way as the 8rgm3i? I have a waterblock for that and was really hoping to use it on this board aswell, if it mounts with two push-through pins on opposite corners of the HSF then thats good and if possible if someone could give me a measurment between the two holes that would be great Other than that just basic opinions on this board Thanks |

Multiplier adjustment is free to choose, depending on your cpu of course Vcore goes up to 2.2v. That should to the trick ![]() vdimm is limited to 2.9v. The distance between the two holes is around 6 cm. Though if you're not going to OC the FSB much I suggest just disconnecting the fan on the heatsink as it tends to be noisy after a while. Mine is disconnected, I run 1.8v vdd through it at 225 mhz without problems. The board is not completely compatible with the Zalman 7000 type of heatsink for the cpu but you will be using WC like me so no biggy. My brother is using that HSF with this board however, he had to saw off a piece of the heatsink. The board is also rather picky on memory. Other than that I have no complaints whatsoever. It does what I want, performs excellent and there are modded bios versions by Merlin. If you want an amateurish picture of my first 1.2 board then you can find it here: ![]() http://users.telenet.be/denthomas/EP-8RDA6+%20Pro.jpg

thanks for the help... yea i have danger den WC blocks for both cpu and chipset, i got one for chipset as well because at 175Mhz and vcore 1.8v on the 8rgm3i the chipset got extremely hot since it is only technically rated at 166Mhz, but ill still use it just for visual appeal... adjustments to vdimm is great.... the 8rgm3i, while a great board imo, had only adjustments for FSB and memory timings, had to pin-mod the vcore and multi.... One other question, does the cpu have holes to screw down the waterblock/HSF or is it just the socket tabs, really doesnt matter much i have mounting systems for both... j/w Thanks |

well guys looks like epox had an openboxed 83gm3i in stock so i will be getting that even though it would've been nice to have the 8rda6+ pro, my car and its system are setup for the 8rgm3i already so it will be much easier to instal... thanks for the help |
