Getting Lockup when using nTune on 8NPA SLI

I've tried to use the nTune program a few times and each time it locks my comptuer up. Just wondering why that might be.

Athlon 64 3000+
Epox 8NPA SLI
2GB A-DATA RAM
2 X eVGA Geforce 6800XT 256MB in SLI
Segate 80GB SATA HDD
Antec 500W Smartpower PSU

I have the same mobo, an athlon XP CPU and two 6800 XT cards, so I'm very similar to your setup and it seems to run ok for me... so its prolly not the hardware...

nTune is so plagued with problems, it could be a small difference in vid card or mobo drivers causing problems for one and not the other. I had some success with it on a board or two and serious issues on others. Never could pinpoint the problem.
Try some other monitoring programs. There's plenty of better software out there than nTune.

I believe I updated it a month or so ago from the nvidia or EPoX website. I just don't use it now though. PCs running fine without it. That ThunderProbe on the other hand almost has me wanting to uninstall it. Goes nuts when I start up ESIV: Oblivion. PC is running great otherwise.

Unfortunately USDM doesn't work with some of the newer EPoX board. However, the newest version of Thunder Probe isn't at all bad. It offers many more control options for fans, and logs temperatures and voltages well too. The memory footprint has been massively reduced and now only seems to take up 20Mb, which although higher than USDM, isn't terrible.

As regards nTune, I found that newer BIOS's broke it on my 9NPA+ Ultra. I have not tried it since.
