What IRQ to set 2 PCI Cards

Hello all,
I need help in reaching a goal i have set for myself. I want to hit 10 X 170. Now i want to know what irq's to assign to my 2 PCI cards so i dont get any conflicts and crash.

1)Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
2)RealTek 8139 10/100 NIC

Now the Santa Cruz manual tells me to make sure the Sound Card does not share a PCI slot. I have read in the wonderful Mushkin Rules thread that PCI #2 does not share IRQ's so i figure i put it there. The guide also tells me that i put NIC's in slot 4 or 6. Now my main question is this... in the config guide it tells me to put the scsi/raid in slot 2 and set irq to 10 and put the sound in Slots 3 and 5 and set irq to 5. So does that mean that if i were to put my Sound Card in Slot 2 that i would set it to irq 10 cause its in the second slot or set it to irq 5 cause its a soundcard?

I also have one more question. I am going to reformat and reinstall fresh win98se and i would like to know if i should or should not install the VIA chipset drivers if i plan to OC my computer to 170 fsb. If i should then what version should i get.

Question

I think the accepted stradigy is the sound card should be in PCI slot "3". The NIC should be in PCI slot "5" set the Plug-n-Play line in bios to "NO".

Then tweak the rest of your bios the way you want it.

I believe "Muskin Rules" formula goes along with the same proceedure. My 8KHA+ set up this way and have no conflicts anywhere.

Thank you for responding and i am going to try what you said but i need someon to please answer the question that i have. Do people set specific irq's to the Int Pin because of the PCI card in there or is it because that SLOT works best with that specific IRQ?

I just put my cards in in a random way and let the board decide on IRQs.

I can run up to 200fsb with no problems (3/4 memory devider)

I have
Soundblaster 5.1
Cheap NIC 10mb
Cheap Diamond modem
and geforce3

They all share IRQ11

To run more than 200 i have to remove my PCI cards....but ive done almost no testing over 200 (lazy)
