Unhappy BIOS error @ boot - 4PDA2+

Guys,

A friend of mine has a 4PDA2+ board that I previously used, w/o issue. Recently he's been receiving this error message at BIOS post: Warning! Insert Key pressed or Clock GEN. Watch Dog Reset Please enter them in Setup, and save the settings before exit! Pressing F1 gets past this. Needless to say we'd like to know what to do to rectify this situation, and eliminate the error message.

We've both done Google seaches (advanced, groups) and found little re the Watch Dog function. We changed keyboards, to no avail. Changed out the CMOS battery, no affect.

BIOS vesion is 6/20/2003. There is one BIOS update from this date. Is there any reason to expect that a BIOS update might correct this issue?

TIA,

Jeff

I would think it is worth a shot. As always be careful when flashing your bios.

Samuknow, thanks for the reply. I'm going to try to get a hold of EPoX tech support and run this by them b4 I do a flash. FWIW I'm not a fan of the Windows-based BIOS flashes. I prefer to stick w/ the floppy boot flash.
