bad memory or timings wrong?

whenever i got to play desert Combat, it'll load, and then it'll eat crash to the desktop with no errors, of blue screen on me. at first it worked fine, and loaded and i could play no problem. i checked the timings, and they were set to Turbo, so i set them to default and now the game runs fine. so my question is, is the memory bad? would running memory with two different speed pc2700 and pc2100 cause this?

Do you have an ATI card? Disable VPU recovery.

The mobo tries to run the SPD timings of the memory, which doesn't always work flawless. Sometimes the SPD default timings are wrongly read. This often happens when one uses two different types of memory like you do.

You're into overclocking so I suggest you change your timings manually as I've written in another thread.
Use a bootable CD of memtest86 to test your config. Run test 5 and 4 at least twice. If both tests show no errors you stand a good chance of having found a good config. To ensure total stability of the memory run memtest a lot longer.
For recommended nforce2 timings see the thread you started where I gave some advice.
