Talking Overclocking junked my bios

My rig was running sweet but thats still not good enough (you know how it is). so i started bumping up the bus from the 145 it was at. I went to 150, 155, hey what the hell lets go 166. My rig locks up on the post screen. no big deal turn it off and back on with the insert key and no go. Unplug power supply, remove battery and clear CMOS. Still nothing. W.T.F!?!?!
Right now it was a good thing that I have 3 other 8KHA+ boards. I popped the bios out of my other unit and swapped em. Sweet it fired up. So I booted to DOS and did the swap and flash trick. everything is fine now.
I'm kinda pissed that the bios got corrupted because I've never had that happen before but I guess there is a first time for everything. Other than a few reboots which I relate to XP I'm pretty satisfied with this board.:-D

Yeah, it's possible that could happen. CPU crashes, but not before it executes some garbage instructions which got interpreted as a flash write. End result - trashed flash contents.

Anytime garbage instructions get executed you run the risk of system damage. Who knows where that data is going to end up!
