downside : The board doesn't detect older IDE devices very well specially if you go into RAID MODE ..... even the less than a yr old LITE-ON DVD ROM i have .... fortunately it detects my 18x LG DVD writer at any MODE.

my current results are

380FSB .... E6400 @ 3045mhz all voltages at stock .... Orthos stable 7hrs ..... i left it overnight running
idle temps are way too low 30C .... load temps 44C max
system temp 37C

My setup is

E6400 - lapped
Arctic Freezer Pro 7 - lapped
Zalman STG1 thermal grease
cheapest i could find PQI(not TURBO series) DDR2-800 1GB (4-4-4-12 settings sa BIOS but same as in the review ... CPU-Z detects 3-6-6-23 weirdddd)
HEC 550W AB
Palit 7600GS sonic
Epox P965+ GLI --- Nothbridge cooled by Tt volcano 7+ (chopped)
LG DVDwriter 18x
2pcs Exelstor 80gb SATA II
Old LifeView TV tuner
Corega USB wifi

Everything works fine and stable

i'll try further overclocking as soon as i can get some backup drives first.

It only s*cks that there may never be anymore BIOS updates since not too many people seem to be interested in the board

you should use capability mode, there are no other setting, maybe you drive is not supported

i will describe all process..
i connect the dvd burner to ide 1 in master mode
use mini sata cable from Sp-A to sata4
in the bios i changed sata mode to combined mode, like describe in the motherboard manual.
but allways show comunication fail in any dvd burn apps.
My dvd burner is : Sony DW-Q30A firmware :yys7

Please help me...

Where can find a list of dvd burner supported ?
and where is the " capability mode ".. in the bios menu ??

Thanks for your time .

i'm using an LG GSA H42N DVD-writer .... it's detected always .... but my slightly older LITE-ON DVD-ROM drive has difficulty being detected.

you can try ENHANCED MODE or COMBINED MODE

also try switching to another SATA port ....... my 160gb WD HD doesn't work properly when i connect it on SATA 1 .... but moving it to SATA 2 worked flawlessly .... weird.

QNX

Thanks so much for the link to the beta BIOS !!!

i'm currently testing stability

seems a lot more stable !!!

at 363FSB with only Vchip at 1.7V ... stock vcore/vdimm .... 4-4-4-14 .... ran for about 12mins only before orthos errored. The dead-keyboard in DOS mode seems to have been fixed. 350FSB seems perfectly stable. will further tweak and test. CPU-Z now correctly detects memory.timings.

after some quick tests ...... i've now settled for 380FSB with my E6400@3ghz ..... stock Vcore ... had to up the Vdimm to 2.1V .... am now able to use 2 sticks 1GB but in single channel ..... Vchipset at 1.6V ..... it's quite stable now.

on dual channel 350FSB was very stable

well after some testing ..... i've tried 1.8V Vchipset and as high as 2.3Vdimm .... and 1.4V Vcore ..... anything above 380FSB is still unstable.

Haven't tried using the RAID again. I hope at least i can get the RAID to work properly now.

I'm contented for now .... being able to use both sticks of RAM i have solidly stable with stock Vcore stock Vchipset at 380FSB .... only the Vdimm required additional Voltage @ 2.1V .... with a single stick Vdimm even at 1.8V was rock stable

took me awhile to notice .... but ... so far i think the problem is the Vcore is capped at 2.1V ... even when i set it to 2.3V .... thunder probe stills measures the Vdimm at 2.1V

weird thing now is the shutdown/restart bug ...... my sytem is now stable at 380FSB .... the power in the apartment building is quirky tonight but it stills hangs tough .... completely Orthos stable for hours ....... onyl thing is when i restart from windows ..... after powering down ... it goes beeppppppppp beeeepppppp hehehhe ... so i have to do a hard shutdown .... before powering up again.

hmmm i'm not sure about that ...... but as far as i know ... the difference between SATA 1 and 2 is practically negligible ..... unless maybe you're running 10K rpm drives in RAID 0 ... you might feel a difference ....... but simply put ... harddrives are just not yet capable of saturating the sata bandwidth
