Question New Epox motherboard owner asking bout a certain model board

Hi guys. Long time veteran of many message boards, first time poster here. I purchased an Epox EP-9PNA+SLI motherboard (nVIDIA nForce 4 SLI socket 939) to finish my system which I am rebuilding. According to legend, the nVIDIA nForce 4 SLI/SLI X16 chipsets have in reality a serious weakness with using SLI on a board with this chipset and Creative Sound Blaster audio cards from Audigy 2 up to X-Fi. More times than not when these parts (2 GeForce video cards + an Audigy 2 or X-Fi audio card) are in the same system together on an nForce 4 SLI chipset motherboard it causes the sound card to fall into a "misdetection loop" which while breakable in 32-bit Windows is not in 64-bit Windows. For my next build I'll be using Windows XP 32-bit Pro by the way but nevertheless here's where the legend resides.

The legend is that when the motherboard manufacturers discovered the problem explained with this part combination and nForce 4 SLI/SLI X16 chipset motherboards all of them except for ASUS but including Epox released a BIOS revision that fixes this incompatibility/misdetection loop. So the question is which of the 4 BIOS' for the EP-9PNA+SLI from Epox contains this fix if any of them? Also, I got the board from a place called and I heard these guys are con men. Ordered it on April 20th and it still hasn't arrived yet (they say its shipping directly from Epox). Have I been duped? Thank you and I am out!

Welcome to the family. I get my share of probs when using the asus a8n-sli deluxe and 2 XFX GeForce GS v/c together with an X-Fi. So I change the mobo for an a8n32-sli deluxe and the probs stop.

If you have been "duped" then don't worry about the BIOS.

The bios you're looking for should be one of the newest. Traditionally Epox bios programmers "overlook" certain things which are fixed in later revisions.

If you know the delivery company you might be able to track your package online or you could call them. If it's not there you probably are duped. To be sure you could also call, they sure don't look like conmen.
