It's a ferrite bead; technically, it is a high-frequency filter, but you should be able to just replace it with a piece of wire and have ti work just fine.

How did it get damaged?

thank you - i'll remove it, and put some wire there.

i don't know why it's damaged. my PSU chieftec hpc-320-302DF broked yesterday, so i order a new one (Topower). by the way i wanted to clean up inside computer and then i saw it. also, there are 4 swollen condenser 1500uF near AGP, but this i can replace without problems.

EDIT: what do you thnik about putting there 100nF condenser? really only wire will be good for this?

A condenser would not work; it must be a very small value of inductance, or just a wire.

The purpose of the ferrite bead is noise filtering; in this case, it is to prevent signal noise from the mother board from being conducted to the outside world, in order to ensure compliance with EMI/RFI emission regulations (at least, that would be my guess), while still allowing lower frequency energy (basically DC) to pass through.

Sticking a condenser there would have an effect opposite of that desired; it would block DC and only allow high frequency energy through.

serarching on google i found an advice to remove it and leave it without putting there anything alse, but it dosen't convinced me.

so I'll try with wire. i hope that my motherboard will not blow up when i do that

thanks for your time

Following your clues I found what part it is - SMD 1206 0 Ohm. so wire would be good for this.

Thank U for your advice.
Greetings from Poland :-)
