Recommended RAM for an 8k3a+ mobo?

Welp, my 8k7a+ died and took my cpu with it so needing to upgrade my motherboard soon.. I'm selling my older crucial brand pc2100 ram to my brother.. and in the market for some newer stuff.. what works best with this particular board? Or am I safe with all the big names.. Crucial, Corsair, Mushkin.. What speeds? pc2700? 3000? 3200? Hehe.. Ram has gotten so damn confusing I don't have a clue what to get . I feel like such a n00b so forgive me .

Cheap and fast!!!

Samsung is having some success with it's PC2700, and heard the new Corsair XMS is doing well too, but I have no experience with that board so I'd hesitate to say much more...

I'm just mainly confused as far as speeds go.. most of the 266 boards only can use the pc2100 stuff right? Can only the 333 boards use 2400+?

No, I'm sure you will be able to use PC2700 in that board, and would assume even PC3000 would work... I'm know someone with the 8k3a will come along and verify this for both of us...

How bout in the case of an 8k7a+ In the manual it just lists that you can like use PC1600 or 2100 ddram.. Does that just mean that those were the only types of ddr memory were out at that particular time and that newer stuff may or may not work?

That's exactly why, bios updates have enabled the ability for motherboards to continue to support newer chips as they're released.

You can use pc2100 or pc2700 in the 8K3A/+. You can set the RAM to 133 or 166. The Samsung is the best out right now as well as being some of the most affordable. You could use pc2700 in the 8K7A/+ as well, I had an 8K7A before my 8KHA+ and got some of the first pc2700 and ran it just fine on the 8K7A, it just runs below specs. I highly recommend the Samsung pc2700, you will not be sorry. Here are my memory bandwidth results with Sandra and the RAM running at 184MHz w/ turbo timings.

That sounds like OCZ RAM, it is not really meant to be new or different, only they are claiming it is good overclocking RAM and will "possibly" run at 175MHz or more. I say possibly, because OCZ is known for having crap product.
Any OCZ RAM I have bought was pure garbage.

Get 2 x 256MB sticks. The two sided 512MB sticks do not OC nearly as well.

Are there any reputable dealers out there that are selling this mem for less then newegg? I saw a couple sites Memory Shippers and Mem plus.. but at resellerraitings.com.. they weren't thought of too highly hehe.

Try to find the memory at OcUk, I know they are trying to get this ram, maybe in stock by now.

I bought 2 sticks here in Sweden and the chip number is:
Samsung 202
K4H560838C-TCB3
