Epox beyond Mobo?

There is word floating around the net that epox might be going beyond motherboards and possibly bringing VGA cards and "other"products.

Personally I think that Epox should just stick to mobos since that is what has made them famous. All the companies around that are branching out to other things are just letting go of the quality of motherboards. So epox listen up ditch those ideas of VGA cards and other consumer electronics. Focus on what you do best and become the biggest/best that way.

I can see your reasoning, but personally I love it! The fact that guys like ECS are makin cards like the new SiS 330 is driving the prices of the 3D cards down! chaintech is makin GF3-4 cards now, and FIC radeon 8500's... can you say gf3-ti200 for $99 and 8500le for $5 more?

EPoX has long been interested in spreading its wings beyond mainboards. And I totally agree the more the better...too many industries have LESS competition these days so its good to see at least one place where there's MORE competition to help drive prices, creativity and old world "survival of the fittest" type ruthless behavior.

Bring 'em on I say!

EPoX already does have much business besides just desktop mainboards.

I think it's safe to say EPoX will manufacture any thing that turns a profit without requiring additional manufacturing equipment . . .

I wouldn't be suprised at all if they started cranking out Nvidia or ATi cards, I'd even consider buying one if the prices were competative . . .

If they give the same quality and overclocking abilities that the Epox series of motherboards has show- i would buy one-

The TV Set Top Boxes are not popular in the US. The PDA's and Pagers are also unheard of in the US. The Raid controller cards, the wireless lan equipment, hmmm lets see what else. The ipox products well those are doing pretty good since epox got that new oem contract.

But what I was referring to going beyond was things like VGA Cards and other products.

So if you were going to see some Epox branded VGA cards by Q4 2002 would you prefer ATi or Nvidia?

I think many users would feel more secure about using an ATi card and an EPoX board if EPoX made the ATi card.

I think that users would like Nvidia cards - especialy the GF4 4600 because- then they would know that it works with any epox motherboard-

LOL.

M$ produce many applicatons that fail to work correctly with there own operating systems

Epox have produced a great motherboard that im very happy with (8kha+)
If epox can produce similar eccelent performance and value from other products then I would be interested.
