Epox 8k3a Repeating Boot Screen??

hi all,
I have a epox 8k3a, windows ME, AMD 1600+, Winfast A170 GF4 MX440 v/c, onboard sound, samsung 2100 ddr, no mods, no o/clocking.

When i first installed the new board it booted quite fast but a week later when I boot my pc I get the video bios, black screen with the hdd etc, then the irq list and this irq list repeats 5 times ( screen goes black then the irq list again) before I finally see windows ME start 20 sec later, windows seems quite happy once loaded, no BSOD or hiccups so any ideas as to why this is happening please ............ is there a bios setting that could cause it??

I have put the BIOS settings back to "default", flashed to the latest bios, but it still keeps happening....

After reading your post over and over again I get what your question is

WinME is one OS I ALWAYS stay away from.........it always has issues....

How bout you try to load win98 first before doin anything and see what happens???

I would assume that either a card is causing problems- OR it is windows ME- it is very EVIL-
I would try reloading it with a more stable OS-
