8K3A+ SANDRA Motherboard Info Voltage Readings.

I think my P/S is bad. It is mainly my - volt readings. Results as follows:
Cpu = 1.74 (default)
+3.3V = 1.55 (agp 4x?)
+5 = 5.00
+12 = 12.16
-12 = 1.95(seems wacked)
-5 = 0.38(seems wacked)
+5stby= 5.02
Batt = 3.12

I am running the latest version of Sandra under XP.

This is with a CWT 420 Power supply.

The bios only seems to monitor the + voltage readings, I didn't see any - readings in the bios.

If I am the only one with these type of readings, I will bet on a bad P/S.

Thanks for the help.

Spyder,

Is that the software from the epox site or disk? I have never installed it.. I guess I should, is it on one of the install disks?.. I just used sandra. I was checking hot deals on a case and saw a link to a guys Sandra readings with his CWT 420, and his - voltages were almost -12 and -5, where mine were 1.95 for -12 and .38 for -5.

Edit: Installed MBM 5.1 and readings are same as Sandra reported for - voltages??? Maybe this is normal?

Thanks for the assist.

Check against voltages as reported by the BIOS. Most 3rd party monitor programs need fine tuning to report properly. See http://www.amdmb.com/vb/showthread.p...ltage+readings for more info.

I don't think you should be too worried:

Thanks All.
I am still gonna do a P/S swap and see whats up... 8kha+ would run at 147 rock stable at 145 in other case with Antec 350w. Got new case with a CWT 420 swapped it all over and it wouldn't post. I thought I zapped my board. So I replaced it with the 8K3A+ Rev 1.0 in the new case.. Max Stable was 141mhz, wouldn't even post at 143mhz. Paid to restock rev 1.0 when 8K3+ 1.2 came out. It isn't really stable at 140 mhz, and won't post at 142mhz fsb.. It is less stable at higher voltages.. Gonna swap my old P/S in the new case and give it a go.

It just may be an issue like others have been having between 134-165 mhz. I got an unlocking kit, but have failed to unlock in two separate attempts... With the 8045 Alpha, it is a real pain to keep trying to unlock.

Trying to do this around coaching my kids soccer team, the kids BMX practice and racing, and the honey do list...

Sorry for posting this in multiple threads.. Guess I need to experiment with linking... Hopefully I will only screw up a few times.

Edit: For any of the remotely currious. I swapped P/S's to the one I ran with the 8KHA+... No effect at all. No increase in overclock. Voltages were about the same.. Slightly higher +12, and slightly lower +5.

Again thanks for all the help. Time to unlock the processor so I can enjoy this motherboard... Until then I keep wishing for the performance of my 8KHA+
