Question 83ka+

Anyone had a problem with this board and SB Live 5.1 card? Here is the issue, i'm running WinXP, AMD 1800+, ti4200 (o'c 260/575), and currently via 4in1 ver 4.38b. The system starts ok and gets to windows but it keeps saying that the audio drivers failed to initilize and i need to re-install the drivers. i have tried re-installing the SB drivers from Creative, i have un-installed the audio card and re-installed it (software) without any success. i have tried all via 4in1's from 4.37 which came on the m/b disk to 4.41 from the net. the card seems to be working ok, but the continuing alert about the drivers has be baffled. any ideas? The audio card is NOT in the pci slot next to AGP card. I've check the m/b manual and the slot i'm using isn't currently sharing the irq with anything.

I prefer M$ myself, of microscr*wed you so bad you don't even know it until after you buy the full version for full price and then realise there are so many security flaws in everythign that you will have to get teh service pack 1 they said would never be needed.

HEHE. what they said is the first step. also unistall any drivers you might have installed from the cd when installing the mobo. If you did, i installed them to see if the sound was any good. DId anyone else think onboard sound was ok.

O-TAY, I first dont know which or where to get the MS update, (using windows update doesn't find anything), and i do have the onboard audio disabled instead of on auto. I've tried both the drivers from the install disc as well as the 25mb file from Creative's website dated 7/17/02 i think. Is there any issue's with the Via 4in1's in need to be aware of. THX.
