Win XP / 4G4A problems - pls. help!

Hi Peps! I've been having problems with WinXP on my 4G4A (not the + version). WinXP would install find but as soon as I install Intel Application Accelerator 2.2 and Intel chipset INF ultility (tried all versions), winXP would not boot at all. It just keeps reading my Drive C:, sometimes winXP would BSOD. Tried Safe Mode, same thing.

My Rig:
P4 1.8a (no overclocking yet! :-D )
Epox 4G4A (05/02/2002 BIOS)
256MB KingMax PC2700 (normal setting)
40GB IBM 60GXP
Geforce 3 Ti200
SBLive! Value
Sony CDRW

I've tried installing the INF utility only but my 60GXP would run at PIO Mode only even when its set to DMA if available in winXP and UDMA in the BIOS. If I only install IAA 2.2 the SMBus remains yellow dotted in the Device Manager. As soon as I install both the whole thing would happen again, sometimes after a few reboots, sometimes as soon as you reboot from installing either of the 2 utilities.

what is the proper installation procedure?
should I use both IAA 2.2 and intel INF utility?
which utility gets installed first?
how do you install the SMbus without using the INF utility?
any of you peps running winXP experience this? wat did you do? is this 4G4A defective? I desperately need HELP!

It's the INF first, to set up the chipset with XP, then the IAA. My first question is, are you sure you're using the correct INF for the board/chipset? You shouldn't run into any problems using the software that came on the CD with your board. Actually, I think this is covered in the manual...

1. Install XP.
2. Install the INF drivers.
3. Install the IAA drivers.

NWEng, thanks for the suggestion. but I did follow the manual to the dot. Actually some sites recommend installing the IAA first then followed by the INF files.
It seems that its having issues with my IBM 60GXP, I installed winxp last nyt using another drive and everything seems find. fingers-cross..
