Low Memory Score on 8K5A2+

At 170Mhz FSB I get a score of 2400/2300 +/-, and I´ve already tried BIOS 2815, 2905 and 2909. I should be getting a score of about 2600 or more, It is on TURBO settings, all the timing are at the highest speed. What´s wrong? Running Crucial PC2700 DDR

And what kind of CPU do you have?

Because If it's a Duron, then those scores are normal - my 8K3A and a Duron 600@1100MHz at about 180FSB scores about 2450/22xx, the story with an AXP is another.... with the same setup and 1800MHz@/180FSB AXP I get around 2750-2800/2600...

Since memory is a combination of system memory, L1 cache and L2 cache.

I´m not ona Duron, I´m on a Thunderbird 1.33@1.4 (175x8), and there are other people with TB and Epox 8K5A2+ that get higher scores at the same fsb and with the same timings!

Don't forget that your overall clockspeed is also lower, which is somewhat proportional with memory bandwidth...

Heres an 8k3a+ bios im running at the moment.

It has no Fast Command decode but Did reduce my AGP tearing and let me run at 211fsb (previously getting AGP tearing at around 200)

This bios did give me higher standra scores (not that thats worth s***) Super PI was the same as I get at lower fsb on 28xx 3dmark was a bit higher (benefits from the high FSB even at lower timings)

Ok, it must be something related with software, did a clean install and here is my score again. 181 Turbo settings. Is this right, or should I get around 2700/2600? I´m on a Thunderbird.

I am happy to say that using the 2909 Bios for my 8K5A2+ that I'm getting much better memory bandwidth.

Here are some compare shots between it at 190 and my KX7 333 at 190. I haven't been able to get stability any higher yet but am in the process for burning in the memory on this board and think it will go higher to boot
