Dual Channel or Single Memory?

In reality how much performance difference is there between dual channel and single channel? Is it worth it? If dual is better which applications would it be better in? I need some new Ram for my 8RDA+ and need to make the decision.

Thanks in advance!

Definitely, but you need good RAN!

I take that as its worth it then? I'm looking at the OCZ PC3500EL.
I'm running an ADXA1700DLT3C week 0319 at 220x11.5 right now. It should help then?

it doubles your memory bandwidth, does that sound promising? ":O}
But many report not being able to go beyond 200 in duel channel mode. Those I listen to recommend the DDR set up.

I would go for Single-Channel if you are to look for high FSB overclocking.

I had some OCZ PC3500EL on my 8RDA3+ and couldn't pass 185fsb in dual channel. Do yourself a favour and avoid these OCZ's. Even tho they are squarely aimed at dual channel, in reality, they are awful at it.

For example, I bought some Twinmos £100 cheaper, and they can post up to 235fsb! Thats a big difference, and also in dual channel. They are completely stable at 215fsb, and Prime for days. However, I need to OVP mod to my board to get higher I think.

Good luck anyway, and keep us informed!
