HELP! epox 4pca3+ rev1.0 & 4pca3+ rev2.0 Hi Im new here and i was wondering what's the differences between 4PCA3+ rev1.0 and rev2.0? I have been waitting for a rev2.0 but the only place i know in US only have rev 1.0 so is their a big differences or should i just buy the rev1.0? also when should the rev2.0 hit US. Thanks |
well i bought a rev 1.0 and now im wondering if there's a BIG differences between the 2 revisions. so can someone please help so i can see if i want to cancel my order =) and get revision 2.0 or just keep this 1.0 thanks |
rev 1.0 - max Vcore is 1.6v rev.2.0 - max Vcore is 1.85v If u can wait, get rev 2.0, if u cant, and u dont need Vcore above 1.6v, get rev 1.0 |
The highest a pc should be running @ a safe voltage is 1.7? my p4 is a 1.525 you think i would really need a 1.85? thanks Quote:

It depends... If u want to overclock your cpu and you have a decent cooling - then yes, theres a big chance you'll need Vcore higher than 1.6. |
But isnt there a certain bios that let you achive 2.85 volts on rev1? Quote:

No. |
there is a bios for more volts on the rev 1.x board on this forum for upto 1.85v i think. There is also an official bios (the one before the current one) which has a feature where the voltage settings in the bios are wrong and lead to higher v's check the forum for posts regarding this feature. As for needing voltages the 'C' core p4 as has been said by many folk doesnt respond to increased voltages that much. K |
Thanks keithwalton. Well i got my motherboard its rev 1.2. whats the differences between 1.0, 1.2 and 2.0? 2.0 supports the will. processers which gives it more voltage anything else that's difference? Quote:
