We've actually been kicking around the idea of offering a personal web page for subscribers, which would be an extension of the user profile.

the idea came to me as i was looking at some one's profile that had some crazy stuff in it (cadaveca) namely the crossfire with the physx card, but that would be really cool to have like a picture of your overall setup, the inside of your case and something cool about your setup, ie: a case mod, or a vga or cpu after market cooler ect. i know nothing about running a website but if this is a possibility then lets do it.

At this moment, it's after a project I'm working on for Dsio, and two or three other things that we've got in the works. Theoretically, it shouldn't actually take that long to do, but might have certain wrinkles that have to be dealt with.

R580 features stream computing, or DX10 compatibility. This is not 100% compliant, as you render to the vertex buffer, and can then do vertex or pixel shading, pass it back to the buffer, etc, etc, thus negating the maximum shader length, as you can then batch prcess your textures.

On current sytems geometry is done by cpu, but what is physics, but geometry calculations? Of course, DX10 wants geometry on gpu, as the gpu is much faster at making such calculation, and can handle more threads at once. This is why the pixel granularity(or the number of pixels that must do the same operation) is important on DX10 cards, as it sets the size of data that can processed in parallel(ie 128 shaders in G80 @ 8 pixel granularity means really can only handle 16 simultaneous threads, or, in comparison to "OLD" pixel pipelines, is pretty mcuh the equivalent to a 16-pipe unit.
