Google searching AOA Forums;

Brought up this;

http://www.aoaforums.com/forum/attac...1&d=1180642965

The description for 'www.aoaforums.com' really doesn't serve our site justice.

Perhaps it should be expanded on a little, much like the description for the forum link below.

Just a thought.

The description looks like it has been extracted from DMOZ. We have no direct control of what DMOZ uses as a description.

We have 1000's of index pages, the text show in the results will vary for each one. There's not much to be gained by tinkering with just one page, even if it is the main index page.

A hold over from the past when we had an Epox sponsored topic. And that would be Wild_Andy A.K.A. Epox Tech

I just caught this. I have tried before to enter searches that I would think would bring up this site. It does not. Can we do anything to help get us up the list? Short of paying that is.

Any of the general searches when looking for a computer forum that you do not know the name of.

We can't influence our ranking very much on more generalised terms. "overclocking forum" returns over 2 million results.

One factor Google uses in ranking results, is how many clicks a particular link has had. We can only wait and see if we get lucky with certain broad search terms, or use AdWords and pay money to be on the first few pages.

Try "epox overclocking", it's more specific, and I am seeing us near the top of the first page of results.

Give it a whirl now and see what you think. Áedán pulled a little magic.

I guess I understand. If I enter computer overclocking, alot of our direct competitors show up on the first page. Just a little frustrating.

Yes, it's in place now. It works for both Firefox and for Internet Explorer 7.
