C&C Generals

Yet another offer from EA. Wondering if anyone has had the delights or playing another game from the flawed development studio?

The game itself is looking pretty amazing, 'cept yet again I've got a game that completely crashes my machine. Just updated to the 42.86 dets and still no go. Blue screen crash this time though.

Anyone else having problems with this? Can anyone help me? (again... *sigh*)

TIA

yep, it is a problem with my geforce 4 display drivers, it mentions the dll in the BSOD.

but, i dont think its specifically the driver, i think its directx. just installed version 9 before installing generals and it dont work! dont suppose anyone knows of if there is a way of reverting back to 8.1? Reinstall of windows required?

I've noticed that DX9 does appear to cause some problems with some programs. Perhaps C&C Generals is one of these? I'm not willing to try it out though!

Seemed to had affected everything I played, which obviously was using the nvidia drivers.

The new Delta Force demo didn't work, Sim City 4, etc.

So, DX9 stopped all that lot working? That's rather worrying!

Yep, all had the same BSOD.

Think I had the same problem when I installed Directx8 on 98. Caused problems because the voodoo2 wasn't directx8 compatible, now my gf4 isn't directx9 compatible!
