since id software released the sourcecode under the gpl/gnu there have been several versions released that support newer graphics cards.

the one i use is: sulq2
tailored for gloom

How about 2000 pro, will they run on it with the newer versions, or was I mistaken in assuming it was 2000 pro in the first place?

yes..
i have that
sulq2 works fine for me.

Sulq2 isnt an "add-on" its a modified executable program tailored for gloom. i gave a link about it in one of my previous posts

Gloom is the add-on, as far as i know the gloom installer just unzips the default maps, sounds, models and all that stuff in order to play gloom.

granted, altho i have an original quake2 cd, i have an old back up of a quake2 folder from when i was running win98. I just copied it onto the c: drive.

I have a Rotokiller around here somewhere I used to use quite often back in my Q3A days. I haven't used it in a long though. It's an excellent mouse for gaming.
