Oh.. my.. gawd.. Call of Duty!

Has anyone played the demos yet? My god this game is going to kick ass. They just released a 2nd demo with another level recently.

Btw: Play it on one higher level of difficulty than you think you can handle. It makes the game much more intense!

I think veteran-level should be like "1 hit and you are out" and also those med-kits should be removed at veteran-level.

Er... If thats the case then theres no chance in hell you will win this game.

I got the full version and I beat it the other day on regular difficulty and that was hard enough! Im trying on veteran and I just started the british missions. This is hard!.
If its one shot and your dead then theres no way you will be able to get past the british and russian missions . The russian missions start out with the battle of stalingrad. (Ever see enemy at the gates? Its erry how alike the game and the movie are in the russian missions )
You start with no weapon and you are hiding behind pieces of wall and busted cars to stay alive from several german MG42's on higher ground. You will get hit several times.

I got the full version this week and it's as good as expected. I finally got a chance to play it for a few hours last night. Good game.


Oh BTW, the sound is great in this game. Glass breaking next to you or the car your hiding behind being shot sounds very real.

Yeah, If you have a good set of 5.1's be sure to really up the volume. The sound is incredible on this. Headphones dont do it justice

I drove down to lynwood, wa today to see a friend and I saw a flatbed truck with wooden rails on the sides and back and it was carrying a bunch of pipe (resting on the cab and pointing skyward) and with the slight haze and the way the sun hit it I could have sworn it was a tank that was merging on the freeway and every once in a while I swear I hear gunshots... Prehaps I should cut my COD time a bit back, lol.

I was going to wait till the price dropped but you guys are making me antsy. Loved the demo.

Although I would be playing primarily for single player, is the multi player function any good?

I've only played multi player once for a little while and it seemed ok. I need to play it more to have a good opinion of it.
The single player game rocks though.

My opinion was based for those 2 demos. Now after few sessions with full-version it seems, that there is no med-kits and ammo-boxes spreaded all over the map anymore.
I havent played more than few levels USA-missions so maybe the skill-level will rise after I get in Brits- and Russian-missio

Games I usually play are FPS-online games (like Quake3-mod truecombat) and FPS-games where 1 guy is against whole world.
In CoD there is lots of players in both side actually fighting against each others, so it is not like all enemy-players are shooting at Me and Me only. Maybe that is the thing why this game feels easier than many other game

Not hijacking but an old game I break out whenever I can get a group of friends tgether is the original Alien Vs Pred.. the "tag" game (starts with 1 alien vs however many marines, each marine an alien kills re-spawns as an alien - gets VERY intense) is awesome

Veteran could of been harder, and the ending was somewhat easy.

Of course i blame the little people for this.

mmm mine keeps on crashing reinstalled xp twice, tried god knows how many drivers, unclocked everything etc etc, even un softmodded the card to see if it was that gutted!

thats lame. The site that hosts the files is down. I saw the game advertised on tv, but I still dont think you can top the realism (as far as realistic violence goes) of Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Yes, excellent game......

A note on your crashing problem, I had same problem here, (9700P) running latest Cats... Not sure why it kept crashing, was very annoying though... My fix was reinstall drivers, however I had to Uninstall first, as a simple reinstall did not solve the problem...

was that 3.8's or the newly released 3.9's? when you say uninstalled do you mean by control panel? Thanks

tried completelt removing them from control panel then using ati drivre remover and then reinstalled 3.7 started okay and then crash! mmmm installed on wifes pc and its sweet, currently writing zeros on hdd to prepare for yet another reinstall, last time took 24hours!

still no luck thought it was working after doing a complete reinstall and then install the 3.9's began alright and then a couple of minutes into the first mission crashed and desktop looked like this?
