Ah and theres the rub. AFAIK they cannot release Vampire: Bloodlines until after HL2 is released. It will be intresting to see the jiggle engine in action.

i hope when you say 04 you mean 2004 not 3004. I say from now on game companies should keep the games secret until they are completed then market them for 2 months then release them. That way no one would be waiting for 2 years for a game to come out.

yea i know thats the problem, they can't just sneak out vampire, which could very well be done by now, w/o hl2 out I can't wait =-O

At one point, White-wolf, the developers of Vampires had more of the source code than Valve.

There's little point in believing that any game will come out on such and such date. I don't blame the game's builders all that much for jumping the gun on a probable release date. They need to keep us interested and there's no publicity like free publicity.

I paid too much for my 9600XT. If the HL-2 coupon that came with it is worth face value, it's not wasted money. I probably shouldn't hold my breath.

IMHO, I would rather wait for a completed product than to get one delivered on schedule that isn't done.

I am constantly in hot water with my managers at work because some portion of the development will slip behind schedule because of some bug or other, and rather than delay shipping they will go ahead and ship the product, and count on patching it later. This tees me off to no end. We can't take the time up front to fix the problems, but we can take our customer's and vendor's time to install patches later. ARRRRG!!!!
