Question When do I get to play Half Life 2?

I have read on some forums that HL2 is almost ready, at least the downloadable version. I have no love for ATI cards so I am not having any vouchers and I would like to know if anyone knows when is going to hit the stores?

sept 21st.
i have about 300mb of files preloaded abt an hour ago, so steam users may have it earlier. Not alot of details coming out....but i can tell you that 100% for sure the game is complete, just final anti-hacking/cracking measures being put into effect.

I've seen September 24th as the release date for the UK, not sure about Romania.

lol never thought of it being released later in other countries, but i guess that IS the norm. I expect to be playing by the 15-18th. they want to preload hl2 to ALL steam users before making it available, so as to not flood the servers with downloads once it's released. every once in a while i get a few more mb...got the executable this morn...but it seems to require another file to start the game. THAT will probably be the last one.lol.

Im having the worst trouble with steam.
I had an account with them about 6 months ago, but ended up needing to format my HD because of virus issues. So now I cant get my username or password from them because i've also changed my e-mail and they cant send me any info pertaining to that old account.

if you still have your coupon, you can re-reg again...at least i was able...just re-install the client...pick a new name, and when it asks for a cd key, give the one from the coupon...

No, no, no, go outside, let the PC rest. Have fun, and let the HL2 to wait until Monday! HL2 should wait, not us !

Cadaveca, nice link, thank's man ! On my 5900XT 500/800 I think I'll have above 50fps most of the time. That is so nice. It will run better than Doom3. In Doom3 I have between 24 and 60 fps but mostly around 33-34fps with high setting and 1024x768res.

Cheers

HL2 will run faster because the lighting and pixelshader use is not quite as intensive as in doom3. However, you can expect some slowdown in darker areas...but not much...and a game that lasts alot longer the first run through....

if that is what you mean then i'm outa luck there too.
I have no box, no slips.... the game im getting the cd-key off of is "blue shift"
the game is a few years old. If I did have any proof besides the disk itself, its all long gone.
