it says something like "thankyou for you continued support etc etc" and will have to get some one with admin rights to the file section to check it.

I've got the demo, and my verdict is that it's alright. I loved the first game, the sequal seems to have all of the good points and most of the bad points of the old game. For example, it's lovely and atmospheric, the graphics and sound are nice, and the teamplay is good. However the friendly AI still sucks, twice on the demo I saw 4 or 5 constantly unloading bullets into a wall, because there was an enemy on the other side. They only stopped once I had taken him out myself. I'm a bit miffed performance wise, my framerate was pretty unimpressive at 1024 with 2xAA, and I've got a 6800. The graphics were nice, but not nice enough to warrant a poor framerate at those settings on a decent card.

You do not have to have lag with low FPS. Run fraps while playing and see.

so, am I like the only one who bought it this week? the other forum I frequent...no chatter at all about this game. So far it's another solid product from Infinity Ward. Doesn't kick you in the ass the way F.E.A.R. does, or leave a lasting impression. Basically, what hurts the impact of the game is the feeling that we've kinda played this game before, but now we got prettier effects and planes flying around in the sky here and there. The missions themselves feel shorter. I think this is due to the new health system borrowed from Halo. You get hurt too much, just find cover and heal thyself. It's not too hard to breeze through the set pieces thrown together. A lot of times it felt like the level had just loaded and already I was onto the next section of the mission - prompting another load. There are a handful of outstanding levels in each campaign, but there are some way too brief bits between them. Presently, I'm pushing back Rommel as the Brits in Africa...desert combat is outstanding. Aurally, I wish the game had support for the X-Fi cards out there (the same way there was for BF2). When you play this with your surround sound setup it is just so freaking loud...leaving you to occasionally plug in headphones. You really find yourself missing the 'near 3d' audio cues when you try figure out where that enemy fire is coming from. I'm grateful for the graphics engine giving support not only for 4:3 aspect resolutions, but 16:9/16:10 screen resolutions as well. Too bad I don't have the extra hardware to see how uber-cool it'll be in SLI, but the graphics still impress. Not a bad game at all. I think any of the console brats who get the x-box 360 are going to wet themselves when it comes out...but most of us have already been there and done that sort of thing before.

I picked this up the other day, but it really needs to be patched, it has issues. Alot of stuttering, and a few crashes. I hope they patch it soon because i was really enjoying it till it started crashing on me. ![]() |
