I am FED up with the bugs in BF2

I'm sick and tired of how poorly this game runs.
It's messy, it's a system hog and now it doesn't work at all because when you begin a game it gets stuck on the screen where you choose your weapon and spawn point.
It takes flipping ages to load. Then you sit there waiting for it to "Verify Client Data." What the...? Why do they bother with gobbledigoop? It's so annoying.
This is possibly the final straw for me. This game is simply so buggy it's unreal. I'm pulling my freaking hair out. It's can be as effing good as it wants when it works, but when it doesn't I might as well play bloody Pong.
I also can't help but decide the patch only made things worse.

I would HIGHLY recommend that you uninstall the game. Do a defrag and then reinstall the game, then install the patch.

trust me I tried, but special forces is also corrupt so they can just go and **** themselves.

Let me ask you this.... are you installing games while your system is overclocked?!?!?!

My system is hardly ever overclocked. BF2 is just...annoying me at the moment. I don't need the stress so I'll have another go when I'm feeling calmer.

Play me on the groun - I'm much, much better. I just not very good in helicopters - watch out if I'm sniping I've unlocked the rifle that shoots through glass .

hah hah, I had fun with that the other night. Took out an Apache pilot!

Back on topic, I have an annoying bug that occurs very predictably every time I start the game up. Game loads, scan for servers, join a game, game loads play for about a minute then it lags like crazy, screen freezes then I get a message "Connection to server lost" and I'm kicked back to the server's screen. Any game I now join works perfectly, it just the first game I start that screws up.

Any ideas?

Don't think so, why would that make a differance? However I have changed my ram (took it in and out) a lot but it's the same sticks.

I got the same problem. First time connecting, it hardly ever connected. Then when you try a second tiem, it works fine.

I have un-installed and am now re-installing. I pray to god I get my weapon unlocks back.

I really need help now. I've un-installed and re-installed the whole lot and it's still freezing once a maps loaded.
Basically, I can't move the mouse and it doesn't react to keyboard commands either.
This is really annoying me. To think it won't work after re-installing means I'm lost for knowing what to do next. I've exited all programs I don't need including anti-virus to see if somethings interfering.
If this doesn't work it looks like my BF2 days are over.

I think my EA BF2 profile may be corrupt. If this is the case I'll have to start from scratch.

I have fixed this. The game set itself to try to connect using Lan, not Broadband.
I beleive this is still an error on the part of the game, and not me. The fact it reacted like this over a simple setting makes me wonder how thoroughly it was tested.
Surely, instead of crashing, a better way of dealing with incorrect settings is to inform the user with a simple dialog box or suchlike. Crashing causes, well, the above.
So the lesson is folks, do not change your connection settings for battlefield 2. It doesn't like it.
