Scratch -> cry ?

I've been hunting around for my Far Cry disk to try out Pitch's Far Cry Mod. I finally found it, but it is scratched as hell. I know I only have myself to blame, but seen as I _do_ own a copy of the game, does that mean I can legally download the game from the internet? Or do I have to fork out for a new disk?

TIA, Guys

No, it's not legal, as the copyright owner is unlikely to have given permission for it to be downloaded.

On the other hand, contact the publisher, and see what they say. Alternatively, look for Robbie's post elsewhere in the forum and see if that helps!

Yeah I read robbie's post, but for the money of some CD-saver product, I can pick up a second hand disk. Looks like I will have to fork out, thanks guys!

How bad is the scratch?

In this situation I would try using whatever I already have in the house. Some T-Cut car polish may remove small scratches. Don't know if you have some of that already.

That's not a bad idea, Danrok! I will have a look around for what I can find

Try a slower speed cd rom if you have one laying around. I found that they are alot more forgiving with scratched disks.

Wow, Monkeyman you are an amzing guy!

Happily I just saved my copy

I was talking to my dad and he had some stuff to polish out scratches on watch faces. We gave it a try figuring it couldn't do any harm, and it worked!
