Considering the length of play in the HL game...is this a good bang for the buck? Seems a lot for 5-6 hours play in comparison?

Haven't had much time for it, but to DAMN BAD! I'll have to hold off on Steam until I know What I'm getting.... use to be you got an add on near equal to or even better than the original....

There's better, longer, more satisfying games out there you can get for $20.

It is nice to have some storyline filled in tho.

This is 1/3 of the "content" until what would be called "another game". The episodic nature of these games allows developers to push out content on a more regular basis, and offering teh customer essentially the same bang-for-thier-buck....1/3 the price of a game...1/3 of a game.

Maybe it's just my overall inexperience, or crappy game play, or loitering, gawking at the eye candy but I got well over 40 hours out of HL and HL2, Farcry first play through.... more like a 20th of a game...?

Wink Set the difficulty to toughest

If your only getting 2 hrs out of the game - either your a freak, or you have it on bamby difficulty.

Episode 1 looks to be real good bang for buck, even taking into account it should take only 1/3 to 1/2 the time of the original.

Im like bonesaw, im replaying halflife two before i try episode 1. Me thinks HL2 is still the best game out there. Although I LOVE the slow mo on FEAR - its a buzz.
Be interesting if they could, or would put slow - mo in HL2?

Incidently - Battlefield 2 has to be one of the most over rated games out there. The engineering of the software sucks. Far cry, FEAR, HL2, FS2004 all play magnificently on my machine at the highest visual settings, where on bf2, i have to turn down the settings. to stop the lag and shutter.
