Counter Strike Source Doing Screwy Things

Whenever I play CSS, the screen goes black in the game, freezes for 10-15sec, then the sound comes back, and i can move around and shoot, but no video. Any ideas?

Updated video card drivers to the newest XG drivers, to no avail.

Just tired BF2. The screen flicks with a black colour every few seconds. Is it also happens during my Matrix screensaver.

Whats going on?

Bad karma? I'd say take the vcard out and clean it and check the cooler. Then uninstall the drivers with drvcleaner, then use 3dmark 03. Tell us what happens ! Good Luck !!!

Try going to a set of nVidia drivers (from nVidia) that you know work. I had some issues like that with a few of the sets of tweaked drivers, perhaps that will cure it

Well...Its an ATi card. I used the XG ATi drivers. :P

I used 3DMark01SE and it seemed ok.

Just updating BF2, seeing if that helps with the flickering. If so, i'll do a re-install of source. Because, both games are messing up, but its different forms of messing up!

Bah, I've been sat in a safety boat every day this week with no shade. It's not my fault if I've gone a bit crazy....

Loads of sunshine this week

It's been really hot, espcially when there is no wind. With the lake so flat it's like being sat on a giant mirror

Its working now. Could of been a heat issue. I balanced a 120mm fan on top of the CPU HSF and the edge of the 9800 blowing air onto the back of the card. Seems to be going ok now.

Who are these people and why do they want to hurt you! Are you paid well for letting them? Do you get to hurt them back?

What sort of job do you have anyway? Does your mother know?

This week I've been helping out at my Sailing Club. They hold a cadet week for children once a year, to get them started and for them to have fun. All the money raised goes to pay for maintaining the site and equipment. So I've been driving the safety boats all week, as well as generally helping out and teaching a little where ever I am needed

And yes, my mother knows
