FPS Creator

I was flicking through a pc mag today and came across a review for this app, its for creating ur own first person shooters (if the title didnt give it away) the website can be found here www.fpscreator.com.

I was wondering if anyone here has used it before and what they think of it. The mag gave it 4 out of 5 and it does look good.

Looks like Goldsource or the Quake2 engine with a Mapping Wizard chucked in.

I downloaded the trial version, and its a good laugh.
Abit fiddily to start off with but you soon get the hang of it. It has some good features and very easy to use

I dont think you could make a far cry out of it, but I think I'll buy the full version just for the amusement value.

There was a review on this a long time back. Supposed to be half-decent. 'course, you're not going to be able to make a Halo-esque game on it, but still.

I had a fiddle with it at a friends house. It's pretty neat!

Yeah deffently neat, I think the best thing about it is trying to make arena's like places you know. I'm trying to make one atm that roughly resembles the place I work. Its not easy, but cant wait till i can run around my virtual workplace shooting fellow employies with a minigun!

I suppose you could get away with using water pistols in the game instead of mini guns, super soaker = total humiliation and then when the boss tells you off just spray him till he gives in.

If someone makes a script to allow the boss to tell you off during the game, I shall be impressed.

In fact, I'll be so impressed, I'll personally bend down and suck my own big toe.

But yeah, making places you know is fun! I remember making a rough arena of my whole house whilst at my cousins house. Came back home, and I could never feel the same way about my house again. =(

Does anyone know what language the scripting in FPS Creator is?

The only gaming language I'm familiar with is RUBY, back from the days when I used to mess around with RPG Maker.

I'd buy FPS Creator and give it a shot, but I doubt my newly found life schedule will allow me time to.

Don't buy off the website! You can get sealed new copies on eBay for £15, thats quite a lot less!

Ok - I downloaded the trial.

Um...wtf? I just get a blank screen with loads of buttons. How'm I supposed to know what to do??????????????????

I actually bought my copy from a buddy i knew from school for 10 dollars.....a bargain i coudnt pass up. Now i just have to figure out exactly how to use it and i will be off and running. I definately think it was worth the 10 dollars i spent on it though.

I get frustrated when I download something and they don't include any tutorials/guides etc.
They just expect you to spend your life figuring it out....hehe
