Oldies but Goodies!!!!!

Last night i decided to reinstall some older games to play all the wat through them, sice i never did when they first came out. The 2 games are :
The Thing
System Shock 2
I know that by almost every critics opinion, System Shock 2 is the scariest game ever made, and i remember it being really creepy.....The Thing, which is based on the John Carpenter movie, which is one of my all time favorite sci-fi movies, is a very cool game, especially with the mouse look patch installed. I look forward to playing through these two creepy games over the next few weeks. Anyone else played through either one of these games, and if so what do you think of them?

Not yet, let me know if I should list it for future consideration...hopefully in a review!

SystemShock 2, scarier than FEAR? Or Doom3? Yet it was made in 1998/1999?

Very probably, like, for example, I am older than you, and more scary

I downloaded the demo of System Shock 2 and loved it.
I actually never finished it because I ended up re-formatting.
It was really cool while I played. The strategies are endless.
I didn't get to any of the cool weapons, but it was still fun.
Looked it up on the internet and the only places selling it was a store in Austrailia and Amazon.
on Amazon it is roughly $40
and from Austrailia it is $7 but with at least $30 shipping.
So, no go for me...

I am actually playing through Quake again. I have only played it once on my friends computer and never beat it. I love that game.
I also played it 4 player co-op with my buddies on a lan network and it was a lot of fun.

I used to love playing Abes Odyssey. OH - what a game! That game was what games were supposed to be about. There don't seem to be any fun games anymores.
Unfortunately, it doesn't work on my PC. :-(

You know, just because it was made a few years ago doesnt mean it cant be scary......and yes i truly believe it is scarier than both doom 3 and FEAR......System Shock 2 is downright creepy! I feel priveledged to own a copy of this classic game. If i could copy it and give every member a copy i would, but alas this is illegal so you will have to hunt down your own copy if you wish to play it, but if you can find it i highly recommend it. The year it came out, 1999, it won like 15 or so game of the year awards, and scored a near perfect score from every critic that reviewed it. Truly a classic.
