NFS Carbon demo launched !

I have played yesterday the demo and it is nice, but GTR2 much more on my taste ! Read more here :

http://www.ea.com/nfs/carbon/us/home.jsp

P.S. Forget playing beyond 1024x768 max details with anything less than 7800 GTX.

didnt really impress me that much, nothing exceptional i think... and too less to try out too! i get great fps by switching off the vsync. oh and the blur effect sucks, looks terrible - give a little speed ever damn thing is blurred :S also has the same directx error problem while installation as it did a year back with nfsmw. use the autorun file under win 2000 compatibility to make it work 9just like last time). i still liek the fact, with the same hardware setup im able to play a new nfs with everything on at great smoothness - you dont expect that much. Unlike many other developers, ea knows to make good lookin games without making your hardware feel outdated too often.

Bare in mind the engine is pretty old.

Same one as NFS Underground I believe.

Maybe it's too early to get such info, but does this game have option to turn off all HUDs in the game? Me wants to know, meow meow

I doubt that you couldn't run the game at that res on anything lower, maybe even with all the settings maxed out.
I should think it will run fine at this resolution on even a card like mine.
I have just checked the EA Forums and one guys running at at that res on a 6200TC.

If you have GF 6800 (not a bad card for previous versions) you can forget playing at even 1280x1024 with full details! The graphics/visuals are better than ever, almost amazing ! Sheesh to all those that haven't played it yet still comenting on the edge of this game :P

PS Installing the game and playing gave me no errors !

i played this on the x360 a few weeks ago, seemed to run fine at 1280x1024 on the xbox. The game however has reverted back to being about 'modders' and general faffing around with the car to a new extreme it seems with the autosculpt feature. Shame it doesnt in the slightest affect the handling of the car! you'd of thought with a barn door on the back you'd get some understeer, but no.

It is out this friday i believe

Got it working under xp, can max everything out at 1280x1024 and it runs nice and smoothly no hickups or slow downs, i have turned off the blur effect before i even played it the first time as i remember it for being unrealistic before!

This on my system in my sig

I've been playing the game for 2 days now, and its not as bad as some people make it out to be. Once you get used to the way the drifting is its actually really fun, and really easy to get some INSANE drifts. The cinematic's are better than Underground 1/2 and Most Wanted, IMO.
