Going for a Wii

Hi guys

Need a Wii and would like a bit more info on the downloading part of it. I have been told that you are able to download old Snes, N64 gamess is this right? If so how much does it cost to do it and is the Wii Wifi enabled or do you have to buy a wireless adapter??

Yes you can download old games via the Wii's built in browser, no idea on cost though. The Wii also has built in WiFi, no adapter needed.

hth.

Old games on the Virtual Console, as it's called, will be coming out at a rate of a few per month. You can find some lists about which ones are already out on other sites. In order to purchase Virtual Console games you need Nintendo Points. You can get points by using a credit card through the console or by purchasing cards at major retailers. Here in the US, one point equals one US cent.

NES games cost 500 points. ($5.00 US)
SNES, Genesis and Turbografx games cost 800 points. ($8.00 US)
N64 games cost 1,000 points. ($10.00)

I've found that getting points and then purchasing and downloading games is simple and painless. The current Virtual Console lineup isn't the best, but it's sure to beef up in the future.

There's quite a few hurdles as far as getting Goldeneye onto the Virtual Console. First, Activision currently owns the rights to make any Bond-related games. Second, Rare is now owned by Microsoft. I'm sure Nintendo is actively trying to get the game, but only time will tell if they'll be successful.
