Old games on the Virtual Console, as it's called, will be coming out at a rate of a few per month. You can find some lists about which ones are already out on other sites. In order to purchase Virtual Console games you need Nintendo Points. You can get points by using a credit card through the console or by purchasing cards at major retailers. Here in the US, one point equals one US cent.
NES games cost 500 points. ($5.00 US)
SNES, Genesis and Turbografx games cost 800 points. ($8.00 US)
N64 games cost 1,000 points. ($10.00)
I've found that getting points and then purchasing and downloading games is simple and painless. The current Virtual Console lineup isn't the best, but it's sure to beef up in the future.
