Not really surprising.

Pre-release polls indicated that there was a significant difference between the amount of Japanese people wanting a Wii and ones wanting a PS3.

Any news on current sale figures?

I think this is credit to Nintendo. They have released the Wii at a brilliant time, and the console is going to be a big success.
I think it will be Xmas pressy 2006.
