Rainbow Six; Vegas

The newest installment to the Rainbow Six Franchise.

I got this game two days ago, after being obsessed with Rainbow Six 3; Raven Shield for the past 3 years. Since the 4th installment was a disappointment, I expected this one to follow in it's footsteps.

No.Way.In.Hell.

This game is fantastic. It really is.

For those who haven't heard of the Rainbow Six series, it's made by Tom Clancy, who, as everyone knows, also made the Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon series.

In my personal experience, I have to say that the Rainbow Six series has to be, by far, the best Tom Clancy series ever.

This game cannot be described in words. I have to recommend it to all FPS fans, however, because it is simply that good.

I will be writing an unbiased review shortly for all of the gamers here at AOA to take a gander at.


But for the time being, anyone else got this game? Planning on getting this game?

Actually, me and Abdul got it at the same time, from the same place.

So, yeah.

We've just been playing Co-op story mode for the past 3 hours. Man, it is immense. I have to say it's one of the most difficult games I've played in a long while. And I'm loving it!

Working through the singleplayer ATM...very very good game. The action is...well...frustrating...which is a good thing. You gotta use some good tactics when approaching any situation, or you die.

Yeah, I love that about it. The new cover feature is awesome.

And, Skool h8r, I think Cadaveca's screenshots may look better. Would ya mind posting a couple Mr Cads?

Also, do you have Xfire, Cadaveca? We should play Co-op story some time. =)

Well yeh its awesome.. Heres what it'll look like with 1gb of RAM, and Opty Single Core at 2.7Ghz, and 256MB 7800GT... Not everyone has a 8800!

Adn they arent the most action engrosed pictures... guess i could screenie whilst i was having so much fun co-ordinating my team .

And the brightness is higher than usual... Oh well!

Dude, what the HELL are you doing running around with a sniper rifle in close range combat?

Unless you intend on putting an 8mm bullet in someone's head at point blank range, I think you're nuts. =(

I was informed by Chris Bard that he would be getting this game come Friday (29th).

Still working my way through it. Would love to find a decent online game...but for some reason I can never get it started. I'll look into it more over the next few days...i think I'm almost done!

I actually started my story on Realistic mode. Since I have quite a bit of experience with the Rainbow games, I thought I'd be OK.

But in all honesty, it's freakin' hard!

It's taken me waayyy too long to get where I am now. On the plus side, it's excellent training for Online Multiplayer.

And, let me know if you're wanna join the clan! =) You have Xfire?

Did I hear that right this is running the unreal 3 engine???????? Does this support DX10?

I don't think it's the full Unreal3 engine, as UBI currently is not currently listed as liscenced, but parts of it are there, for sure. Mostly seem to be a heavily modified U2 engine...encorporating DX9 U3. SplinterCell uses similar engine, however seems very different. Far more physics examples in Vegas.
