| The two I've bought: Call of Duty 3: Very involved gameplay. They have gone to alot of trouble to use all of the features of the PS3, including the sixaxis motion capture controller. For example, to smack a guy in the face with a rifle butt, you give the controller a fast flick to the right, and to drive the jeep, you hold the controller upright, like a bus steering wheel, and rotate it left and right like a steering wheel, which is actually extremely useful. To plant a bomb on an AA battery, you press the plant button, then you insert the firing pin, and you physically rotate the controller in circles to "screw in" the pin. It sounds odd describing it, but performing all of these actions really makes you feel 'in' the game. Resistance: Fall of man is even better. The best way I could describe it would be a cross between Half Life (original) in gameplay, and V for Vendetta in terms of plot and atmosphere. Similar to COD3 in controls, and they can be difficult at first, but by the second or third level, it feels as natural as a keyboard/mouse. I havn't gotten far into this game, but I'm really enjoying it. As for Gran Turismo HD... well its hard. Seriously hard compared to every other driving game made. Even the old GTs, gave you the ability to bounce off walls, and other cars to improve your laptime, and cutting corners and taking shortcuts was a part of it. The new GT, is realism first and foremost. If you hit a wall, you cant just turn the wheel away and floor it until you're pointing the right way. you can't just run over the grass and expect it to be OK. Braking is the most important aspect of your driving now, and your times fall when you ride that perfect edge, between breaking too late and overcooking the turn, and breaking too early, wasting speed. Gearchanges are also an important aspect, with automatics suffering a considerable penalty over manuals in both acceleration, and especially braking. The end of this is that you will be driving the same cars much slower than you will in the older games, but its your accuracy, racing line, and breaking points that will matter most, not your horsepower or wall bouncing ability. Its not a racing game for kids, its a racing game for adults, that have experienced real car handling characteristics and know about their limitations. Ridge racer by contrast is a kids game. Personally I didn't like it at all (played demo) I found Genji (japanese sword playing game) to be rubbish. Same old crap, just with better graphics, however being a Japanese game console, its not surprising that there will be a game dedicated to beautiful Japanese girls with 16 year old bodies, and 12 year old faces, cutting up people with Samurai swords while wearing a transparent G-string, and a bra that can't even begin to hold its DD breasts. F1 was good, and I might consider buying it, though I didn't because I'm waiting for the full version of Gran Turismo HD to come out. Lemmings was surprisingly good, and game hours of fun. Its a remake that they've put alot of effort into and took me back to when I first played it, when it was bundled with my Creative Sound Blaster 8-Bit sound card. Its one of those classics that just never gets old, and makes you feel like a kid again. Far better than the Japanese Lolita swordfighting g-string ninja game.

| I have a 360 and a friend of mine has a PS3. We've been comparing, but neither of us have any of the same cross platform titles. The only things I can note are that the PS3 games seems to take alittle longer to load, but again this is apples to lemons until we can find a common title. - Also, the PS3 controller feels a little light and flimsy to me due to the lack of vibration, but then the 360 Controller feels heavy to him ![]() Can't really comment on the visuals, but we both agreed that GRAW2 on the 360 looked the best out of all the games we had on the two consoles. Still early days though, and yes Resistance:FOM is pretty nice even though I only got about 30 mins with it.

| The fact is I don't see there being much differance from a visual point of view. Both systems have pretty similar abilitys for making things look pretty. The PS3 will just have the edge for things that take more power like physics and ai |

| I think the PS3 will come to the fore in the longer term, and the extra processing power makes it more future proof. It should still hold it's own in five years time.

| The ps3 has the brute power but i think the xbox is going to keep its edge, the ps3 only has 256megs of video ram compared to 512 on the xbox which also has a dedicated 10megs as a cache to the gpu. cpu wise the ps3's cell has a slight advantage over the xbox's xenon but not much its 7 cut down power pc's vs 3x2 (3 cores, 2 threads per core) 3.2GHz power pc's I shall soon have both as im just greedy only reason im getting the ps3 is the new f1 game and folding @ ps3 |

| None of the current games aside from perhaps motorstorm, which I havnt played, even come close to the machine's potential, and from what I've played on the 360, the same can be said for that title. This is what I believe needs to come out to give us a decent comparison: Halo 3 on the 360. We all know its going to be good, how good is the question, as this will become the 360 yard stick. Gran Turismo HD on the PS3. As much as Halo 'made' the Xbox, Gran Turismo 'made' the playstation. GT2 was the best game ever made for the original, and IMO GT4 is the best on PS2. This will push the limits of physics and graphics, just as Halo 3 will. Lastly, and this is a big one for me: Force Unleashed. This game, from the videos I've seen takes AI and physics to a never before seen level. Its like they threw out the rulebook and made Jedi into Dragon Ball Z characters, making walls explode, throwing girders at tie fighters, making earthquakes with lightsabers... This is comming out on BOTH 360 and PS3, and I have no doubt that this will be one of, if not the most hardware straining game to date for both consoles. And damn... I just cant wait. With a motion sensitive Light Saber controller (please sony), my living room's going to get the **** beaten out of it. Finally no more 'the force is your ally' ... 'restraint and dicipline is the key' crap. I'm a Sith now, and its skull****ing time.
