Dirt - Simply Amazing !

I just installed Dirt. Well I didn't thought I would be so surprized by this game but....I had to take out my Logitech Formula Force GP and install it. What you can see inside this game is mind blowing. At maximum settings on very high resolutions a 8800 would run it at around 30 FPS! But then again what they did both in graphics and in physics it's above any other car game I have ever played. GTR2 looks great but is really far from this one. Here are the specs taken from the txt file.

----------------------------
Minimum Specifications
----------------------------

- Windows XP
- DirectX 9.0c
- Pentium 4 @ 3.0GHz or Athlon 64 3000+
- 1GB RAM.
- Graphics Card: GeForce 6800 / Radeon X1300 or above
- DirectX Compatible Sound Card
-*Dual Layer Compatible*DVD-ROM Drive
- 12.5 Gb Hard Drive Space

----------------------------
Recommended Specifications
----------------------------

- Windows XP/Vista.
- DirectX 9.0c
- Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.66Ghz or Athlon X2 3800+
- 2GB RAM.
- Graphics Card: GeForce 8800 or Radeon X1950
- Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Sound Card.
- Dual Layer Compatible*DVD-ROM Drive
- 12.5 Gb Hard Drive Space

----------------------------
Supported Graphics Cards
----------------------------

- ATi Radeon x1300, x1600, x1800, x1900, x1950

- nVidia Geforce 6800, 7100, 7300, 7600, 7800, 7900, 7950, 8800

I will post some pics and you guys feel free to comment. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

What are the controls like, do you need a steering wheel?

It can be played without the steering wheel. However with the keyboard you are limited. Managing corners and staying exactly where you want on a track is only doable with the wheel. When you need 60mph or 45mph for 20 or 30 seconds you just use the pedal to control the speed and you can't do that with the keyboard !

Just bought this for 360 to play with my shiny new Wireless Force feedback wheel. Can't wait to get it.

I've been playing forza motorsport 2 recently. Another amazing racing game, sooo much fun with a force feedback wheel. I'm away from home and i'm getting withdrawal symptons. Forza and possibly dirt are easily the best reasons for getting a 360.

It's a shame my system is so old and useless, I was really looking forward to getting this game. However, my graphics card is not supported

my flatmate just got a the microsoft stearing wheel to go with his 360. he bought forza 2 instead of dirt, but has a demo of it, and even the demo is prity epic. using the stearing wheel on the small buggys is very challenging, its so easy to spin out unless your permanatly altering everything. its good though

on a side note, forza 2 is also very good
